What is an Apostille or E-Apostille
- E-Apostille (Apostille for short) is a process that makes your document valid internationally.
- It is essentially the digital/online process of document verification and attestation.
- A document (certificate, transcript) is verified and approved first by the university, then by the Education Ministry, and finally by the Foreign Ministry.
- After this, a verified/attested copy is stored online by the Government of Bangladesh on myGov.bd, which you can submit to any person or institution.

How to get an urgent Apostille approved
An application on myGov.bd first goes to the Section Officer in the NU Controller of Examinations office. Because of the huge number of applications from all over the country and a shortage of staff, one application can take 30-45 days to verify and approve.
If you urgently need it for a special reason, follow these steps:
- Collect an Offer Letter/Appointment Letter and similar documents from the institution abroad.
- Take these documents and a printed screenshot of your apostille application status on myGov to the Deputy Controller of National University.
- On a special request, arrangements may be made to finish it within 1-2 weeks.
Application steps
- Register an account on myGov.bd.
- Complete your profile.
- Go to the dashboard, click "New application" and fill in the form.
- Pay 200 taka by mobile banking to complete the application.
- Keep checking the status. It usually takes about 30 days.
Documents required
- Scanned copy of the NU certificate or transcript
